Hats on Etsy

I'm not really a blogger anymore (as you may have noticed by the 300+ days since my last post). Just logging in to tell you all to to check out my hats on Etsy! I'm crocheting them to raise money to send Chase and Dean on the American Heritage tour. Chase can't go unless a parent goes (yay! Diabetes doubling the cost of our life Yet Again!). It'll be $6000.00+ so I'll just be here on my couch crocheting!

There have been a lot of great things happening lately around here! Dean's mom, Judy has had a hip surgery that we're hoping will get her back on her feet. Glenn & Kathleen are taking Angela to the Temple with them on April 18th to be sealed. The doctor's are pretty sure that Dean doesn't have cancer in his arm. The Levy passed by an overwhelming margin in the second attempt! Way to go people! (Sorry, if you're not pro-levy, but it is the right thing for the kids right now.) The SUN came out 2 days in a row!!!!!! Welcome Spring!!

I am now teaching my Dental Assisting Class 2 nights a week for a while. The kids are really excited to be able to play outside. I hope the snow doesn't come back tomorrow like some are predicting. Dean had his arm checked by a specialist in Utah & he felt like since the pain is decreasing & the movement is increasing, it is probably something that will get better on its own. He will go back down in a couple of weeks to have another MRI to see if it is healing. We felt alot better after the visit.

This sunday after Conference we had some Diabetes Friends over for dinner & shooting the bull! It was really fun to be able to vent to people who live with Type 1! Thanks guys! Hopefully it will become a regular event.

Cameron is busy playing soccer (so far he has had 2 games.....0 practices!). Chase & Cole are participating in an interfaith Easter play about Jesus (much to their shagrin). It is at the Performing Arts Center on April 18th if anyone wants to come. Chloe has learned to sing I am a Child of God & she randomly starts singing it all the time! I'll post her doing it if I can ever get her to perform!
Anyway, we're busy, but happy & having a good time. Cole is defending his Pinewood Derby title tomorrow night. Wish him luck!

Catching up with myself!

I just checked my own blog because I couldn't remember what it looked like. Did I still have my christmas background up? Oh yeah...Cameron's lost tooth. OK, so at least we weren't stuck in December, but we're pretty behind anyway.

I have been introduced to facebook & I loooove it. I have gotten back in touch with lots of old friends. You should all join! You'll be surprised at how many people you find from days past!

I have started teaching a basic dental assisting course at ISU through Workforce Training. Ironically, I have never been a dental assistant and my assisting skills are mediocre at best, but they picked me to teach the class. So I am working alot on the computer to get the lessons ready to go. I have so much respect for teachers. I never thought about all the prep time that goes into teaching a class.

Chase & Cole are knee-deep in basketball seasons. Both of their teams are doing well despite the Leavitt family's lack of significant athletic ability!

Cameron is taking swimming lessons & looking forward to soccer in the fall.

Chloe is a maniac! She will be two on the 24th. I can't believe it! I still remember waddling to the hospital to have her (big as a stinkin' house!). I looove my little girl. Did I mention I am dooooone having kids? i thought I may have forgotten to mention it!

Dean is busy in R&D for his Venezuelan toy. He now has a wood lathe, numerous drill bits, etc, as well as the goops needed to make molds and reproduce things in plastic. Really.

So I am also busy training to run a half marathon. My friend Cindy and I ran 7 miles this morning. Last Saturday we went 8.5. We are feeling good about being ready for 13.1 by May 16th. I am excited that Johanna & Jen (my sisters in law) have decided to join us in Ogden for the 5K. Apparently the half marathon is full, but there might be room in the other races if anyone want to sign up!!????!!!!

My camera has been sitting in the corner for weeks. There are so many cute things going on here, I promise to charge it up & start shooting again! Bye for now!

Cameron's First Lost Tooth!

We first noticed Cameron's tooth being loose in August right before his birthday. Being the dental expert I am...I told him it would be out before we went to Disneyland. Well, that wasn't right. Then we decided it would definitely be out before Christmas. He kept singing "all I want for Christmas is my front teeth to fall out". Somehow that tooth stayed in & showed us wrong again. Today I was working on something upstairs & heard Cameron start to scream & I figured it was just another day after school at our house. When he came upstairs he showed me the wonderful space the tooth left behind. We were so excited! Unfortunately, he dropped the tooth in all the excitement & we haven't been able to find it. We called Dean in Twin Falls to tell him the news & he told Cam that the toothfairy would accept a marble in its place if he left it under his pillow. Let's pray the toothfairy remembers to come through this time!

Our Christmas letter

December 16, 2008
Dear Friends and Family,
Merry Christmas! I’m not sure what happened to that time that is usually between thanksgiving and Christmas, but it has been wild around here. A small flood Thanksgiving weekend threw us into a whirlwind remodel/redecorate, which we’re still finishing up. As always, 2008 was busy for the Leavitt crew.
Chloe is 22 months old and has grown by leaps and bounds! Her favorite things include Dora “DEDO”, Scooby-Doo “doobydoobydoo-are-ooo”, and her Daddy! She has been so fun this year. We are still in awe of how different little girls are!
Cameron is 5 years old now! When people ask him if he’s in Kindergarten he tells them “my mom didn’t want me to be the li’lest kid in the class”. Well, that’s true since his B-day is August 27th. He’s such a fun kid to have around. His favorite things are Webkinz, Webkinz, and did I mention Webkinz? (they are stuffed animals with a code to use on their website to care for them, buy them things, etc). Cameron goes to preschool 2 days a week as part of a mom-share group. He loves it when it’s at our house! He is also days away from losing his first tooth!
Cole is 9 and in the 3rd grade. He played baseball and 2 seasons of flag football this year. Right now he is starring in a Christmas play at Mystique Theater in a part he shares with Chase. It’s fun to watch him ham it up on stage. He has lots of friends he plays with, but also values his quiet time at home. His favorite thing this year was our Disneyland Vacation this fall!
Chase turned 12 this year! He got a suit for his birthday & he looks so grown up in it (although he is definitely the shortest Deacon at church). He attended Camp Hodia for kids with diabetes for the 4th year. He played basketball in the winter and football in the fall. He was fortunate to be a part of undefeated teams in both sports. In football they won the championship game in the Holt Arena (Mini Dome)! He got his first deer this fall too!
Dean continues to work as a pharmaceutical rep for Takeda and as the Scoutmaster in the ward. He attended Scout Camp for the 4th year in a row this summer! Now that Chase is a scout, he figures he might as well keep the job and go with our boys for the next 10 years too! He bought and ran a lawn care company which took a lot of time. We looked forward to the snow for a much-needed break! He loves to hunt and fish and spend time with the kids.
I am enjoying staying home with the kids and working occasionally as a Dental Hygienist. I work as a teacher in Relief Society once a month which is a fun calling! Dean and I have had fun singing in the community choir together. I am enjoying jogging again and am planning to run my first half-marathon in Ogden in the spring. Wish me luck!
We are so grateful for the blessings we have received this year and look forward to all the adventures 2009 has to offer!

The Lame blogger

Sorry for being a lame blogger lately. Since Disneyland, everything has seemed so non-eventful! Today is Dean's Birthday. Happy Birthday Dean! We'll get some good photos for thanksgiving & we are having new family pictures taken in the next couple of weeks! Hope you all have a good thanksgiving! Wende
